Mrs & Classic Mrs Singapore 2016: Grand Finals

Hey Everyone!

So it's been almost a week (or like, slightly over half a week) since the Mrs Singapore & Classic Mrs Singapore Grand Finals. I must say that I've been relatively invested into this pageant because it was when I did my very first vlog and my first big event of 2016. I'm sorta having quite a withdrawal hahaha. You can watch my vlog for the Grand Finals here.

Let me just put it out there first, for some reason my memory card was full - like on earth did I use up that 32gb even when I cleared it before I left the house? So I had to use my phone and that died right after the event so I just really grateful that it hung on like one tough cookie. So, I do apologise for the differnce in photo quality and aspect ratio. I'm not even sure why some photos turned out a different aspect ratio when you can't change it on the iPhone..

Right, on to the blogpost then!


The Grand Finals were held at the Orchid Country Club Grand Ballroom.

Obviously, I needed an #ootd by the staircase, as you'll probably see on my vlog!

Now back to the event!



So much photo taking was in order!

I think it was pretty obvious that I'd want to snap a few pictures with the backdrop myself, so Adeline and I stood by the backdrop for a good amount of time, waiting for our turn.

I like how she brought along the little signs to hold up for photos haha! She's just so energetic and I really like that about her ^^ Technically, everyone at ERM has been so wonderful and they really make you feel comfortable around them, which I'm just very very grateful for. I'm not the best at social events and new environments, so without their warmness and outgoingness, I probably would not have as much fun as I've had over the past few weeks.

I did not really expect it to be so massive. I think the layout looked better than last year's pageant at RWS, mainly because the tables filled the entire room so it didn't look partially empty.

I should add that I strangely decided to take THE WORST SEAT at my table.

And I didn't actually realise how inconvenient my seat was until the contestants came out. I guess it's a good thing I'm not easily excited by food, or else I'd constantly be torn between taking photos and vlogs when the food came. Alright, super quick, let's just talk about the food for a bit..

If I remember right, there was jellyfish, duck, beancurd roll, seafood roll and baby octopus!

Prawn basket with celery (I stayed away from this one, not the biggest seafood fan)

Yam Paste!! One of my face desserts, but this one wasn'the best I've had?

I was looking forward to the yam paste ALL NIGHT but somehow it was sorta disappointing.. Right, enough about the food and back to the pageant!! ^^

At this point, my card was full (seriously?!) so I had to swap over to my phone.

I didn't include who won which title last year, and I realised that was so silly. So let me just put a list out for you guys, although I know I didn't actually snap photos of every single one of them as they were getting crowned.

Next up was the presentation of Token of Appreciation to the judges. I didn't really snap photos of that because like I said, I had picked the worst seat ever.

So, let's move on tp the Talent Performances.

Contestant No. 02 (Yang Xiao Saunders)

Her confidence and stage presence never ceases to amaze me. I like thos little fluttery things she brought out that was real fun to watch!

Contestant No. 14 (Lynette Tan)

I loved her outfit this time, though I think the one she wore the last time was so much more fun, because of all the lemons on them. But this was really lovely too!

Contestant No. 24 (Clara Lee)

I always get so mesmerised when I watch this, to be honest I think it's like a magpie syndrome, I like shiny things. I'd say Clara's story was the most inspirational and the fact that she's such a happy person from the start, I'm always always amazed and inspired.

Contestant No. 25 (Serene Cheng)

I will never forget how popular she was and how supporting her family was. I think they were the only fans screaming while she was on stage during the Talent Segments. On that night, man, was she just as well supported!


And I've a clean shot of the presentation of Token of Appreciation to the sponsors.

I wasn't feeling very selfie worthy that day, partially because my weight has been going up up up and I'm struggling to keep it down down down so... just one selfie for the night.

Also because this dress was pretty scratchy so I wasn't very fond of moving about too much.

Congratulations ladies!

I've been trying very hard not to show who my favourites were, but I guess the vlog I did for the talent and cooking segments were so obvious cuz I literally only asked two contestants to wave at my camera.

I promise I'm no psychic guys. And I promise I did not pay anyone to let the winners win. 

They're all deserving of their titles and they should be proud of what they have accomplished, whether they made it to the top 8 or not. 

Another one for the camera.

Is it.. I'm a queen too? :D
